Why is there a Dollarama class action?
The plaintiff in the Dollarama lawsuit alleged that prices advertised and charged by national dollar-store chain did not include an “Environmental Handling Fee” that was tacked on at checkout. The fees were allegedly added to batteries, electronics, lightbulbs and toys.
Who can apply for the Dollarama class action?
Dollarama customers who purchased products with an “Environmental Handling Fee” in Québec between Dec. 11, 2019 and July 4, 2023, or elsewhere in Canada between May 29, 2021 and July 4, 2023 are eligible for the settlement proposed in the class action.
How much will I get from the Dollarama settlement?
Eligible claimants can expect between $3 to $10, depending on the total number of approved claimants, delivered via Interac e-Transfer.

Dollarama has agreed to pay a total amount of $2,643,718.75 to be used to notably compensate Approved Claimants in the form Interac E-Transfers, between a minimum of $3.00 and a maximum of $10.00 each, depending on the total number of Approved Claimants.
Each Approved Claimant can only get one Interac E-Transfer.
